During pregnancy, the core muscles undergo significant changes to accommodate your growing baby and to support your changing body. The transverse abdominis muscles (TVA) provide deep core stability and support the spine. During pregnancy, they elongate and stretch to accomodate the expanding uterus. These are the muscles you want to focus on restrengthening postpartum.
Restrengthening the core postpartum is important for recovering abdominal muscle ton, supporting the spine, and improving overall posture.
There are 10-15 minute core workouts that will progressively challenge your core over 8 weeks. I recommend doing each core workout at least twice per week and when you are ready progressively challenging your core. Some of the exercises will seem basic or slow, however they are important to help strengthen your deep core muscles.
